Sculpting Gandalf the Grey's Staff with Foam Clay | Plus Some Added Accessories | Gandalf Pipe

Image
Hello Friends,  Continuing to build some LOTR props, this week's build is Gandalf's staff from The Fellowship of the Ring. I wanted to do something a little different to make this one, since the last 2 were 3D printed. So, I sculpted the staff using foam clay and a wooden dowel as the center support.  If you would like to make one here is a link to the file for the staff template and the printable pipe & nail files: https://www.etsy.com/listing/1812214484/gandalf-the-grey-staff-template-3d-print?click_key=8a9d12b77d700ccd00f30bcc034890292ee271ac%3A1812214484&click_sum=d61b606b&ref=shop_home_active_1 If you want to make one and see the entire build process I used, check out the build here on my YouTube channel:  #lotr #gandalf #lordoftherings #foamclay #foamsmith #sculpting

How to Make a LOTR Uruk-Hai General Helmet | URUK HAI HELMET Free Template | Lord of the Rings

Image
Hello Friends! I have been a huge fan of the Lord of the Rings movies, ever since they came out when I was a kid. In fact, they are the main reason why I became a propmaker! I went to see each one in the theatre multiple times, and when the extended editions came out with all the behind-the-scenes bonus features, I would prop myself up in front of the TV and not move all weekend until I had watched and rewatched every featurette.  I now had the time to make this Uruk-Hai General Helmet from The Two Towers, I wished it had made the films, it would have been very impressive on the big screen. But at least Weta released their model collectible!  This is an easy and fast build if you would like to make one here is a link to the template: https://drive.google.com/file/d/18aHx6TJUQ3opOGgu3kn27kObbwmo2xwu/view?usp=sharing Check out the complete build process on my YouTube channel right here: #lotr #lordoftherings #evafoam #foamsmith #urukhai

3D Print LOTR Uruk-Hai Scimitar Sword | Free Files | Damascus Steel Finish on a 3D Printing

Image
Hello Everyone! Continuing with the Urk-Hai builds, I thought it was time to make their scimitar sword when we get to see a lot of in The Two Towers. I wanted to try something different with this project, so I printed the base and decided to apply the texture as a physical texture instead of having the texture in the 3d print. This cut down the amount of sanding that was needed to finish the print and helped the sword match my other Uruk builds.  As a thank you for all your support this past year, I am providing these files for free. Here is the link to the free stl files: https://drive.google.com/file/d/12QE9PNtE3_fkdgeS6pGr_1UVPV9EeEqa/view?usp=sharing Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays Everyone! Grogu Rondel - 3D Printed Prop - Din Grogu Armor From The Mandalorian Series Fits Mattel Toy

Image
H ello Friends!  I've been seeing others using spot putty with acetone in their smoothing for 3d prints, and I've been wanting to give it a try. So, I thought I would knock out 2 birds with 1 stone. Grogu's rondel was a perfect piece to attempt this with because it is meant to be super smooth on the front, but the back has a tone of small detail.  Coming up I'm going to attempt this spray technique on a larger piece like a helmet. Stay tuned... in the meantime, if you would like one of the rondels for yourself and you don't have a 3d printer check out this link:  https://www.etsy.com/listing/1485844740/grogu-rondel-3d-printed-prop-din-grogu?click_key=87b6cac76c7b69e2e73a58b6015699efa542c208%3A1485844740&click_sum=82f8b435&ref=shop_home_active_1 If you want to see the process of using spot putty mixed with acetone to smooth out prints, you can check it out here: #grogu #themandalorian #disneyplus #rondel #3dprinting

Hawkeye Bow that Really Shoots | HAWKEYE BOW from the Disney + & MARVEL Studios New Series

Image
Hello Everyone! This is the follow up video to accompany my Hawkeye Trick Arrow video. I wanted to make a bow inspired by the one he uses in his new series on Disney +, but I wanted it to be fully functional.  To create the base of the bow, I use wood and aluminum rulers. These give the bow enough baulk to be functional without being too heavy. I initially tried using PVC pipe to create the bow curves, but it just didn't have enough tension to shoot an arrow more than 10 feet. That is when I switched to using the aluminum rulers. They could be shaped to the right curve and still have enough tension so the bow will launch an arrow over 30 feet.  Here is the link to the bow template: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1mSQjnvzj7_9QatRzEJ_hCnqWLlFi2W8p/view?usp=sharing   If you want to see the entire build process, you can see it on my YouTube channel:  If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them in the comments and I will respond directly! Hawkeye Trick Arrows, Part 2 | 3D Printed HAWKEYE Arrow Tips from the MARVEL Studios Series Finale

Image
Hello Everyone! In the Hawkeye season finale about 9 minutes into the episode we get a fantastic sequence of Clint & Kate Bishop assembling a new batch of arrows (the sequence is close to a minute long)! The arrowheads are so prominently featured I wanted to add them to the set I made inspired by episode 3.  The tips were drafted in AutoCAD and printed on an Ender 3 Pro (print details are listed below). I also used a mirror chrome paint from Spaz Stik which I used on the first arrow batch, because I was so impressed with the results. So far it is the best metallic mirror chrome paint I have found on the market. If you want to check out the complete process, you can see it here: Watch the first batch of arrows being assembled here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YQ2Z6huXSYA or Building a Hawkeye themed bow here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=reEOVKJF8YQ #marvel #hawkeye #bowandarrow #3dprinting #arrowhead
